Good Morning Members,
The second half of our golf season completed it's first weekend with the crowning of another Champion with the playing of the Three Day Member Guest. Brian Finnigan and John Sullivan are your 2026 Montgomery/ Ahrens Overall Champions. It was an exciting shootout and a great weekend. Now the best time of the season for golf is ahead of us. The weather looks to change sometime tomorrow hopefully seeing all this humidity leave and replace with those awesome August days of low 80's and high 50's at night.

Saturday is a very busy day with two events. The Men's Morning Event is a Best Ball 2 of 3 Gross/ Net. I know the sign page says net only but their will be gross as well. Tee off will be between 7:25PM and 8:30AM as all players must be off the course at 12:30PM sharp.
Saturday afternoon the club is hosting the Annual Hilltop Farm Golf Outing. 12:45PM Shotgun. The Course will open up after the conclusion of the event. approximately 5:45PM
IMPORTANT REMINDER TO MEMBERSHIP:
The Entire Club will be CLOSED MONDAY AUGUST 17th for AERIFICATION of GREENS. This is the most important process we do each year to keep the course in perfect condition. The membership will enjoy the best conditions until we close the course for the season on November 29th. On November 30th we will do a deep Tyne Aerification and heavy topdressing of greens and fairways. I suggest members do not bring any guest next week as we will not cut the greens for about 5 days to allow the grass to grow in perfectly. Our Ground's Staff performed this last year and membership repped the benefits for the rest of the season. I appreciate your support. The Course will open up on Tuesday August 18th at 9AM just incase the staff needs a little extra time.
Until Next Week

Grounds Update
Course Maintenance & Grounds Update
From Pat Macari - Grounds Chair
July/August
- Tee Box 4/6 We are working on a plan to redesign and upgrade the existing tee box. Discussions are underway to determine best scope of work. Trees behind 6th green have been moved to the dump area on 3 and stumps being ground.
- We plan to Laser Level the tops and replace the Sod with new turf. Plans are drawn so the BOG can review and decide on new steps.
- Research and repair some wet underground areas example: (right side of 7th fairway/rough by last tree)
- Completed Projects to Date
- Stairs in 7th Tee Box have been reset and cleaned up
- Tree Work) behind 6th green has been moved to dump area and large tree at end of 3rd green overhanging the neighbor’s property, while on site we would also remove another 2 trees dying by pump house. Also, Trees next to Tennis Fence by driving range, and Paddle Tennis also, 2 last trees at end of range have been removed and/or chipped into bank as planned
- Fill, Grade and Seed the slope from the 9th green to the parking lot, plant 4-6 more arborvitae to help protect the cars parked in the lower lot. 3 more arborvitae to be installed at the end of August to help protect cars in the lower lot.
- Replaced the fence behind the new driving range, we are looking at 8-10 foot tall with a tarp cover to protect golfers on the range from any errant balls from the 8th tee box. Thank you to member Danny Caroleo for the great work!
- Bury of the Blue Drain pipe next to the rose bush bed is completed
- Fairway Aeration pulling plugs and dragging chain fence to breakup plugs (once ground has a dry period). Adding top dressing to 50 yds from greens.
- Aeration and over-seeding of grassless dirt areas around the course completed
- Greens will continue to be rolled and mowed as the turf continues to grow eliminating the exposed sand and creating that great base we now have! Greens are at maximum stent speed.
- Rough Mowed low land area off 7th Tee Box
