Good Morning Members,


Fall officially arrived last evening around 8PM . Late Summer and Fall also are the best time of year to play golf as the course is in perfect shape and the temperature is still somewhat mild to play. 


This week is a straight forward week after the busiest 21 days of our golfing season. 3 events are on the calendar. 


Men's Fall League tees off this afternoon from 3:45PM to 5PM. Exactly two weeks remain to get all your matches in . The Fall Banquet is on Tuesday October 6th. A special email was sent over the weekend with a link to register for the Banquet. 


Our Ladies Group is scheduled to Play on Wednesday. With Sunset now near 6:45PM let's try to tee off no later then 4:45PM. Those ladies wishing to tee off at 4:15PM can do so . Please email me if you wish to play. 


The Annual Suffield Cup is scheduled for Friday Afternoon and Saturday Morning. This is a Ryder Cup Format. I'm still looking for 3 Players as we must have even numbers. Sign Up deadline on Golf genius is 5PM this evening. The Team Draft will take place on Thursday Evening at 7PM in the Bar Area. I have been watching the weather closely and the forecast is still a little unsure of the path of this weekends storm forecast. A decision on play will be made Friday Morning by 10AM.

Grounds Update

 Course Maintenance & Grounds Update

July/August


  • Tee Box 4/6 We are working on a plan to redesign and upgrade the existing tee box.  Discussions are underway to determine best scope of work.   Trees behind 6th green have been moved to the dump area on 3 and stumps being ground.


  • We plan to Laser Level the tops and replace the Sod with new turf. Plans are drawn so the BOG can review and decide on new steps.


  • Research and repair some wet underground areas example: (right side of 7th fairway/rough by last tree)



  • Completed Projects to Date
  • Stairs in 7th Tee Box have been reset and cleaned up 


  • Tree Work) behind 6th green has been moved to dump area  and large tree at end of 3rd green overhanging the neighbor’s property, while on site we would also remove another 2 trees dying by pump house.  Also, Trees next to Tennis Fence by driving range, and Paddle Tennis also, 2 last trees at end of range have been removed and/or chipped into bank as planned


  • Fill, Grade and Seed the slope from the 9th green to the parking lot, plant 4-6 more arborvitae to help protect the cars parked in the lower lot.  3 more arborvitae to be installed at the end of August to help protect cars in the lower lot.


  • Replaced the fence behind the new driving range, we are looking at 8-10 foot tall with a tarp cover to protect golfers on the range from any errant balls from the 8th tee box.  Thank you to member Danny Caroleo for the great work!


  • Bury of the Blue Drain pipe next to the rose bush bed is completed



  • Fairway Aeration pulling plugs and dragging chain fence to breakup plugs (once ground has a dry period).  Adding top dressing to 50 yds from greens.



  • Aeration and over-seeding of grassless dirt areas around the course completed

  • Greens will continue to be rolled and mowed as the turf continues to grow eliminating the exposed sand and creating that great base we now have! Greens are at maximum stent speed.
