Pool Director Re-Hired
It is with great pleasure that we announce the re-hiring of Steven Stegman as the Suffield Country Club Pool Director for 2010. Steve has worked as the Aquatics Director for the Town of Coventry for three years. Prior to this Steve was the Pool Director for the Town of Windsor Locks Parks and Rec. Department. He teaches Mathematics at Coventry High School during the school year. Welcome back Steven.
We are looking forward to another successful year for the swim team as well as some new and exciting events at the pool. We have finished the replacing the fence around the pool as well as the purchase of new furniture last year for your summer comfort. We are planning many new and fun activities and events we hope you enjoy in 2010. If you have any comments on things you would like to see happen please do not hesitate to contact us and let us know.

Summer 2009 Pool Information
Grab your calendars and print this out. There are a lot of changes for the 2010 season at the pool. So here we go.
Pool Hours
The pool will open for pre-summer hours starting on Saturday May 23rd. On May 23rd, 24th and 25th (Memorial Day Weekend) the pool will be open from 10:00am to 7:00pm.
Beginning Tuesday, May 26th and running through Sunday, June 21st, the pool will be open:
Week days 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Sundays 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
The pool will open full time beginning Monday, June 22nd. (This date is subject to change depending upon changes in the Suffield Public School calendar).
The "beginning of the summer" - Monday, June 22nd through Sunday, July 26th - hours are as follows:
Sunday Open Swim 12:00 p.m. " 8:00 p.m.
Monday - Swim Team 9:00 a.m. " 11:00 a.m.
Friday Swimming Lessons 11:00 a.m. " 1:00 p.m.
Free Swim (1/2 pool) 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Open Swim 1:00 p.m. " 8:00 p.m.
Saturday Open Swim 10:00 a.m. " 8:00 p.m.
The "end of the summer" - Monday, July 27th through Sunday, August 23rd - hours are as follows:
Sunday Open Swim 12:00 p.m. " 8:00 p.m.
Monday - Swim Lessons 10:00 a.m. " 12:00 p.m
Friday Open Swim 12:00 p.m. " 8:00 p.m.
Saturday Open Swim 10:00 a.m. " 8:00 p.m.
***During all open swim hours, there will be a 10-minute adult only swim. Adult only swim will take place from 10 of the hour until the hour. This will be a time to give the children a break and the adults (18 and over) time to relax from watching your children or give you a chance to enjoy the pool without the children in it.
The pool hours for Monday, August 24th through Sunday, August 30th will be from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The pool hours on the first day of school for Suffield Public Schools through Friday, September 4th will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The pool will be open Labor Day weekend, Saturday, September 5th to Monday September 7th from 10:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m.
Swim Team
The Swim Team will start its practices on Monday, June 22nd. Juniors will practice from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and seniors will practice from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Practices will be held Monday through Friday
Sign-ups for the Swim Team will be done at your convenience. Simply ask any of our life guard staff to sign you up.
The cost for Swim Team is $10 per swimmer or $25 for a family of 3 or more. All fees will be added to your monthly bill.

Swim Lessons
There will be 4 sessions of swim lessons offered in 2009. All session will run Monday through Friday for a two-week period. The following are the session dates:
Session A Monday, June 29th -Friday, July 10th
Session B Monday, July 13th - Friday, July 24th
Session C Monday, July 27th - Friday, August 7th
Session D Monday, August 10th - Friday, August 21st
The first sign-ups for Swim Lessons will be on Friday, June 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If you know what level your child should be enrolled in, there is no need for your child to bring a bathing suit and towel. If, however, your child needs to be tested to ensure that he/she is properly placed for swimming lessons, please have him/her bring a towel and bathing suit to sign-ups.
Children can only be registered for one session of swim lessons at a time. Sign-ups for Session B will be held at the commencement of Session A on Friday, July 10th from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sign ups for Session C will be held at the commencement of Session B on Friday, July 24th from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. And sign-ups for Session D will be held at the commencement of Session C on Friday, August 7th from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The cost for swim lessons this year will be $25.00 per session/per student for all levels, except for the Parent-Toddler Lesson which will be $30.00 per session/per Parent/Toddler. All swim lesson fees will be included on your monthly bill.

Pool Rental
The Suffield Country Club Pool is available for private rental throughout the swim season. A sign-up sheet is located in the snack bar. Talk to a life guard and reserve your date today, before they all fill-up. The cost for rental is $45 per hour. This includes the fees for the 2 lifeguards and the actual pool rental.
Please note that the pool will ONLY be available for rental/private parties after regular operating hours. For members who don't want to wait until the evening hours, parties can always be held during normal operating hours. Members must pay the individual per guest fee. We ask that you notify the Pool Director before planning any parties during operating hours as a courtesy and to ensure that adequate lifeguards are on staff to supervise the pool.
